Preserve and Protect Peachtree City

I strongly believe that our town is one of the best communities in the country because of its unique village identity, greenways, and recreational character. As the only candidate who was raised here, I will strongly defend these core features that make PTC one of the best places to live and raise a family. That means protecting our greenspaces and opposing new apartments or rezoning industrial and commercial land for residential developments. I’m committed to collaborative, data-driven, and transparent planning that balances the needs of our community while preserving our core values.

The Peachtree City law enforcement officials have my fully pledged support. We are one of the safest communities in Georgia for a reason and I’ll champion any additional resources needed to keep it that way. I’ll also leverage my policymaking experience to work with our state lawmakers and put a stop to cryptocurrency scams targeting seniors. Peachtree City has fallen victim to these criminals and I’ll tirelessly work with our elected officials to find a solution.

Infrastructure and Traffic

Our multi-use path system is one of our city’s most treasured assets. I support continued investment in resurfacing and ensuring we continue to make improvements for ADA accessibility.

When it comes to traffic solutions, I am committed to realistic solutions, and not empty campaign promises. The 54/74 intersection is a state project, and not something the city can fix alone. I’ll leverage my strong relationships with regional and state leaders to exhaust all possible funding mechanisms and solutions to improve our traffic concerns.

I will oppose any new development that adds traffic without offering community-approved alternatives. As a recreation board member, I already voted against adding pickleball courts near Planterra due to traffic concerns and I will continue applying that kind of scrutiny to future proposals.

A common sense approach to policy

Fiscal Responsibility and Transparency

As a homeowner, I share the frustrations of rising tax assessments. My goal will always be a full rollback of the millage rate during every annual budget. It is my priority to ensure citizens feel that their hard-earned tax dollars are getting a fair return in a fiscally responsible way. That means protecting vital services like public safety and emergency medical services, diversifying revenue streams, and preserving the high quality of life PTC residents expect to have. PTC residents shouldn’t be taxed out of their homes.

As a fiscal conservative and former budget writer for the Georgia House of Representatives, I believe in a strong cash reserve. During COVID, I worked firsthand on decreasing state agency cuts from an initial 14% to 10% because of the state’s rainy-day fund. That meant more hard-working Georgians kept their jobs and critical services continued to be funded. However, a cash reserve must be balanced with the size, portfolio, and needs of the community it’s serving. I believe our city’s current cash reserve is too high for a city our size. I support reducing our cash reserve to a more appropriate level to fund critical infrastructure improvements while maintaining AAA bond rating.

My family escaped a communist regime where citizens did not have the right to free speech. In PTC, citizens not only deserve to have their voices heard, but it’s one of their fundamental rights. I’ll fight for the elimination of time constraints during the public comment period in city council meetings and host town hall meetings to discuss policy decisions face to face. Citizen input always matters.

Enhance the Quality of Life

The current landscape debris policy is unacceptable. Due to the unanimous passage of the burn ban, residents are now left with costly or impossible disposal options. As a solution, I will aggressively pursue a city-run yard debris pickup program funded by existing city funds.

Peachtree City should remain a place where the next generation wants to live, work, and raise a family. I support revitalizing vacant or underused commercial space to bring in new restaurants, small businesses, and unique experiences without rezoning. All proposals must be transparently reviewed on a case-by-case basis to ensure the revitalizations not only fit within PTC’s character, but also boost city revenue. This includes the pursuit of revenue-generating public-private partnerships that further enhance the menu of community events in town. I’d love to see some fresh ideas come to life like a drive-in golf cart movie theater!

As a member of the recreation advisory board, I have already been a strong advocate for our recreation programs, which includes proper maintenance of our facilities, parks, and playgrounds. It is my priority to ensure future projects are funded responsibly, maintained properly, and meet the needs of our community.

City government should be as efficient and user-friendly as the businesses we deal with every day. From golf cart registrations to city services, I support more digitized options of city hall services for increased efficiency. I also support updating the city’s ordinances and policies where needed. Some examples include strengthening ordinances around golf cart safety and increasing protections against out-of-state private equity firms who have driven up home prices and ruined city characters in other communities. Our council has a duty to protect citizens from tomorrow’s challenges, not just today’s. My common sense approach to policy will always be proactive, not merely reactive.
